CHOOSE YOUTH
What’s the future for young people and youth projects?
(please display the attached flyer for this young people’s event in your project/facility/session or hand out to young people)
MONDAY 18TH APRIL 1.30-5.30PM PARK ROAD COMMUNITY CENTRE, ELSWICK NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE NE47RU.
This event will be an opportunity for young people and their youth workers from across the North East to come together and celebrate youth work and their involvement in youth projects and activities. It will also be a chance for young people to gain a greater understanding of the public spending cuts and how they will impact on their own youth clubs, projects and services. By coming together young will have the chance to see if they want to do something about the cuts.
There will be movies and presentation from different young people from across the north-east talking about pieces of work, activities and projects they have been involved in. If you work with young people who would like to show off something they have done with your project please get in touch on the number below.
There will be some workshops in banner making, political graffiti, etc.
The workshops will provide an opportunity for young people to discuss the cuts and enable them to ask questions.
There will then be a question time with political figures, young people and youth leaders
The young people will get a chance to give them a grilling about youth services and issues important to them. Representatives from the main 3 parties have been invited. So far.
