Qualifications for Youth Support Workers

Consultation on Statutory and Vocational Qualifications

The National Youth Agency is taking the lead on the development of a new youth work sector draft qualification strategy and vocational qualifications for Youth Support Workers and Assistant Youth Support Workers.

The NYA, Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK) and the Awarding Bodies involved are very keen to get feedback and input from all stakeholders in the sector on the proposed strategy and the associated qualifications to ensure that they meet the needs of the sector.

Given the distraction of the General Election, it is less than a brilliant time for the NYA to be  opening up this consultation. However, if any one has a minute, could they help me out? What is the distinction in terms of practice with young people between Youth Support Work and Youth Work? Forgive my ignorance and stupidity if this is glaringly obvious.

See the discussion document here.
