Prime Minister to listen to young people?

The following is being circulated around the world of youth work.

Tell the Prime Minister what young people think about the riots

The British Youth Council, UK Youth Parliament and Young Mayors Network want young people to have their say on the riots
through their survey.

They will take your views and proposals to the Minister Tim Loughton MP, the Prime Minister and the UK Government.

Tell them what young people think by completing their short survey by Thursday 25th August 2011, and passing it on to other young people to complete. Find the survey at: https://www.sureymonkey.com/s/BYCyoungviewsriots

BYC also want you to send them copies of any letters to MPs, Councillors, or newspapers that you have written, or details of action (like volunteering or riot clean ups) that you have done in response to events. Please email this to campaigns@byc.org.uk

Tell the Prime Minister what young people think about the #riots through @bycLIVE @UKYP @YMNetwork survey by 25 August http://tinyurl.com/riotssurvey

The survey opens by asking the responding young people to identify themselves. Are we alone in thinking that the use of these categories suggests that little or nothing is being learnt from the disturbances? Whither the voices of the ‘unheard’?
