“Where are all the children going to go? They’ll just sit on the street corner and drink and take drugs. I don’t want that for my daughter” Nurse from Newcastle- (Chronicle 21.11.12)
“If our project closes where will we go? We’ll end up in the bus stop and the back lanes where we are now when the sessions aren’t on” “Young women come here to seek advice, to take part in activities and access the computers, to get help with questions about benefits and other services” Youth Worker in Benwell
“I hope we do not have more serious case reviews in the future, but it is a real possibility as a result of these thoughtless government cuts” Labour leader Nick Forbes. (Chronicle 20.11.12)
“Government departments need to rethink the undeliverable cut…and the changes appear to hit Newcastle and Tyneside worse than many other parts of the country” City Treasurer Paul Woods
IF IT’S UNDELIVERABLE THEN DON’T DELIVER IT!
LOBBY : your local Councillors and MP’s and tell them that they must not accept the Governments funding package
The Council is running Consultation events where they claim they are giving us the opportunity to challenge their proposals. It is really important that we attend these meetings and oppose all the cuts.
