‘TOGETHER, STRONGER’ YOUTH SECTOR SEMINAR : THE STRUGGLE FOR COLLECTIVE ACTION IN IRELAND

As we move towards this week’s In Defence of Youth Work national conference it is revealing to receive this video of the ‘Together, Stronger’ seminar organised by the SIPTU Youth Workers Committee and the Irish Youth Workers Association. The focus is on bringing workers together in some sort of collective body that can defend youth work as ‘social liberation’. Inevitably many of the themes resonate with our concerns.

We send our best wishes and our solidarity to the next organising meeting this coming Friday, April 11 at 11.00 a.m. in the SIPTU Liberty Hall, Dublin. Being ignorant, having done a bit of homework I know now that SIPTU stands for the Services Industrial Professional and Technical Union.
