As advocates of the widest critical debate across our ranks a warm welcome is due to the appearance of the Youth Sector blog – Empower, Participate, Educate
In its own words,
This is a communal blog site, about youth work and all that it encompasses, it is by and for youth workers, youth practitioners and all youth professionals, it is non-denominational, not affiliated to any organisation and non-partisan. All good youth work should aim to be empowering, participatory, educative and equal, as does this site.
The site aspires
to become a central place where all youth professionals can share their thoughts and their experiences, an online space for professionals throughout the UK (and beyond) to connect and collaborate……..whether you’re a volunteer within the sector that’s never blogged before or a CEO of a national youth work provider, your views, opinions and experiences will be valued and appreciated on the site.
It is very much up and running with the latest blog contribution coming from Natasha on the issue of overcoming barriers to engaging with young people online.
Credit to Matt Lent for kick-starting the initiative. We hope it goes from strength to strength.
