Youth Elements : A Youth-led conference for Professionals, November 8, Manchester

This conference offers the chance  to hear and share inspirational stories from young people and their views on a variety of issues affecting them.  This conference is a great opportunity to find out what young people actually want from professionals.

Featured workshops: facilitated by young people include

Sticks & Stones: Understand the impact bullying has on young people. Explore the different types of bullying from cyber, emotional and physical.

What’s in a Word? The Greater Manchester Coalition of Disabled People will share their research findings, on the language used in relation to young disabled people.

It’s who I am: Looks at the ways professionals can support and help improve the lives of LGBT young people. Explore the factors affecting their needs and develop skills in supporting young people.

After the Exams: Young people are abandoning their dreams and ambitions due to failing exams. Participants will spend time exploring education and employment initiatives for young people.

The day will consist of guest speakers:

Elizabeth Harding, Chief Executive of the North West Regional Youth Work Unit (NWRYWU)

Kirsty Glover,  Youth Elements North West Ambassador
