Talking to Young People About World War One : Simply a Song?

From time to time we’ve picked upon an issue prominent in the news and pondered how we might chat to young people if the subject arose. This week has seen a focus on the First World War, which burst into bloody life a century ago. I wasn’t sure if young people would pick up at all on this tragic centenary. I wasn’t sure if I could put into words how I felt about both the genuine and false displays of remembrance. And then I came across this heart-rending song, courtesy of Paul Layton and Mike Harding and time stood still.
