In the tradition of TeachMeet, an opportunity for detached youth workers to come together to receive training and learn from one another. Graeme Tiffany will lead two sessions, one on Starting Out in Detached Youth Work, which will focus on basic theories and practices; and the other on methods for Dealing with Difficult Conversations, be they sensitive, controversial or potentially conflict-creating. You will also have an opportunity to learn more about the Federation for Detached Youth Work, and meet members of its executive committee, as well as fellow detached youth workers from across the country.

10.30 am Arrival and refreshments.

11 am Welcome and Introduction/Introductions to the day. (Ice breaker)

11.10/11.15 Workshop 1 – Starting out in detached youth work.

12.30 Lunch opportunity to network.

1pm FDYW AGM

1.45pm Workshop 2 – Expectations on youth workers and difficult conversations with young people and others. What is your reality?

3.30pm Summary and close at 4pm
