Only a couple of weeks ahead of our effort to debate the future of youth work at the IDYW national conference on March 23 practitioners in the North-West will be grappling with the same question. In this case the guest speakers are drawn from both the government and the leading mainstream voices of the youth sector. It will be fascinating to see to what extent they acknowledge that the prospects for youth work are intimately related to the ideological outlook of the newly mandated Tory administration. It should be a stimulating day and we would love to receive a report on the proceedings, especially indeed if it challenges our critical concerns about the post-Election, post-Brexit future.
